A Visit to Mt. Major / by Douglas Koski

Sinéad and I met up with her uncle Doug to make to enjoy a quick hike up the lakes region's Mt. Major.  It was a nice, quick little hike, of which both Sinéad and I fared far better than we anticipated.  Uncle Doug was in pretty good shape, so we were working to keep up with his pace.  For the majority, we did fairly well (a couple quick pit stops aside).

The trail path, and stats.

I've been trying to record more of our hikes with the All Trails app.  It's definitely been great for seeing how well we handled each hike.

We made it to the top a lot quicker than we thought we would, and stopped to enjoy the views.  I had brought my camera primarily for additional weight on the hike, but I given how nice a day it was I decided to take a couple photos.

There was a cool little rock base for a house structure.  I was thinking to take a couple pictures of it but there were kids climbing over it and I did not want to be taking photos of other people's children.  Instead, I focused on the scenery and snagged a shot of Sinéad doing the same,

We took one last look before making our descent.  It was a steep beginning, but the rest of the trail had leveled out pretty nicely and we again were making good time.  It was a great hike, and we hope to be back to it again soon!
