A Spring Trip to Mt. Washington
On Sunday I had an spark of inspiration shortly after dropping Sinéad off for the bus to Boston. She was heading down to Bean Town to enjoy a couple days of girl time with her mom. The highlight of which was the Pink concert last night. The inspiration was to use the rest of my free day to find a waterfall and try to capture an image worth putting on the wall.
An Adventure in Ireland - Continued
The continuation of the trip to Ireland Sinéad and I enjoyed with her parents. Still will have more photos and story to add towards the end of Day 4, but there is enough there to enjoy otherwise. This part of the story picks up the morning of Day 4.
An Adventure in Ireland
(Part 1) Sinéad and I had been discussing going to Ireland for the past couple years. I had always wanted to see the country and Sinéad had been wanting me to be able to meet her family. Our planning converged with her parents' planning, and before we knew it we were off to see the Emerald Isle.
2017 Seek the Peak & Hike for Mike - the Bridal March
Sinéad and I met up with our family and friends to conquer the 2017 Seek the Peak as part of team Hike for Mike. The day proved to be beautiful in all aspects. The weather was nearly perfect, the hike (while still not easy) was enjoyable, the company on the trail was great, and - most importantly - we celebrated a wedding at the top!
Hike for Mike 2017 Patches
For this year's Seek the Peak team and those who support us, I decided to design out some embroidered patches. I was thinking this would be a good option for people who want something for the hike, but don't want to buy a shirt.
Arethusa Falls Hike with Sinéad
Sinéad and I made a return trip to Arethusa falls. She wasn't able to go with me the first time I hiked and had been very interested to visit it herself! We made an early morning departure to better our odds of getting a parking spot. We were in luck! There weren't many cars when we arrived, but there was a line that immediately followed us in. We geared up and made our way to the trail head.
Independence Day Celebration in Portsmouth
Sinéad and I were in the Dover area after visiting with some friends and family. Neither of us were quite ready to return home; so, after discussing some options, we decided to brave the streets of Portsmouth, NH.
First Hike on Kearsarge
As a continuation of our conditioning for Seek the Peak, Sinéad and I teamed up with my Uncle John and Aunt Maries for a hike up Mt. Kearsarge. It was about as perfect a day as we could have hoped for, and we enjoyed a beautiful hike!
Sinéad and I were so impressed with our summer trip on the Conway Scenic Railroad that we immediately decided we needed to return for the fall foliage. Unfortunately, we did not realize just how popular the autumn rides actually were. Regardless, there was still economy seating available for an October weekend; so Sinéad took inventory of those who wanted to join us, and we grabbed what seats we could. We also took note that reservations needed to be made as soon as availability was made public for any chance to get 1st class or premium seating (which we soon discovered is well worth the extra cost for anyone over 4.5’ tall).
