Memorial Day Parade 2019 - Concord, NH / by Douglas Koski

May 27, 2019

Those fortunate enough to participate were additionally blessed with some beautiful weather the morning of Memorial Day in the state’s capital. Those who organized the Memorial Day Parade in Concord did a magnificent job! In a world of over-the-top planning, the parade and remembrance ceremony were respectfully done and maintained proper focus on the true purpose of the day.

Seats of Honor

For those who served but could not join us.

The parade made its way down main street, and then members of the parade returned to take part in a small ceremony of remembrance in front of the State House. National hymns were sung through out the parts of the ceremony which lead to the placing of wreaths at the memorial site. It was a surprisingly moving ceremony: solemn and reflective.

The ceremony ended with a prayer, and I believe there was an invitation to join for an additional ceremony at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery. I could only hope that other towns and cities across the Nation were fortunate to have as much respect and care offered. A humble and honest thank you to those who died while in service to our Country.
